At Yellowhammer Bars, we take our role in our localities very seriously and always strive to be good neighbours by working together with the community, the council and the police.
All our General Managers are encouraged to play active roles in Pub Watch schemes, Best Bar None and other community initiatives. This is supported by our team of Operations Directors and our licensing manager who regularly meet with the police and local authorities to ensure we work together in partnership
All our venues operate as a minimum standard the Challenge 21 scheme to prevent under-age drinking - which is independently checked by Mystery shopper reports carried out by serve legal
Examples of our success to date can be drawn from our Best Bar None achievements
- Best Bar None; the national scheme which promotes responsible management of licensed premises, have recently rewarded 2 Yellowhammer venues for their high standards of practice, Envy in Street and Chilli White in Bournemouth.
- Envy Street won Best Large Premises in Mendip and also Best Overall Large Premises,
- Chilli White Bournemouth were presented with awards for being the 'Best Nightclub' in Bournemouth as well as being the overall 'Best Bar' in Bournemouth. Judges praised Chilli White during the award ceremony, for its high standards of operations and safety, which well exceeded the expectations of the judges. (This comes at the same time that Bournemouth has been awarded a prestigious Purple Flag, which recognises Bournemouth’s safe, clean and pleasant night time experience. It is thanks to the joint effort of Police, Bournemouth Council and all the night time establishments working together to make sure that public spaces are well managed, and that schemes such as Taxi Marshalls, The Safe Bus and Town Watch help keep the visitors and residents of Bournemouth safe. Yellowhammer Bars are proud to have contributed towards the rising standards of Bournemouth’s night time economy. )
Yellowhammer Bars is also a member of the trade bodies NOCTIS and the ALMR who actively work with the governments and councils to help bring creative solutions such as the purple flag to fruition.
